Slurry Formula:
- KleerPrime (polymer binder): 10–15%
- Acts as the adhesive and binder, improving flexibility and cohesion.
- Cement (Portland or other type): 20–25%
- Provides structural strength and durability.
- Water: 25–35%
- The amount of water can be adjusted to achieve the desired consistency and workability.
- Fibers (polypropylene or polyester): 0.1–0.5%
- Added to improve tensile strength and crack resistance.
- Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂): 2–5%
- Enhances abrasion resistance and may improve brightness/reflectivity for surface applications.
- Quartz (silica or sand): 30–40%
- Increases hardness and abrasion resistance.
Procedure:
- Mix dry ingredients: Start by blending the cement, fibers, titanium dioxide, and quartz together to ensure an even distribution of the solids.
- Add polymer: Gradually incorporate the KleerPrime into the dry mixture.
- Add water: Slowly add water while mixing until the slurry reaches the desired consistency. The mix should be smooth and cohesive but not too watery.
Adjustments:
- If greater flexibility or adhesion is required, increase the KleerPrime content.
- For a thicker slurry with better load-bearing capacity, adjust the cement and quartz ratios.
- Ensure fibers are evenly dispersed to avoid clumping.
This formula should give you a strong, durable, and abrasion-resistant slurry suitable for microsurfacing applications.
